For the Sami people the year has eight seasons. October in Lapland is a month of departure and preparation - called Čakča. Cold winds travel down from the hills,  covering the land, that has grown older as the year progresses, with frosty air. Ruska is gone and many birds have moved south. The grass in the bog is yellow and brown. Time to prepare for the great silence and the resurrection. For a brief moment, life once again celebrates its splendor. Kaamos, the darkness, is approaching. The mystery of life accompanies us with its stories.
