Palsa bog is a name for hilly arctic bogs in the permafrost areas of the northern hemisphere. Inside the hill there is an ice core frozen in times of the last ice age. They have been storing CO2 for 20,000 years now. In recent times these landscapes have thawed due to man-made global warming and release a gigantic amount of green-house gas.
